The Heartbeat Of Music

Steady heartbeat travelling through wire
Bass that burns with the heat of fire
Volume pushed so high it hurts
Punching you raw in intermitted spurts
Sweet melody caressing one ear
Welcoming in those who want to hear
Pulsating emotions suspended in air
Only reachable to those who care
Cables fraying around the bite-marks
Razor-edged lyrics like the teeth of sharks
Chords just hang in there with sharpness
Notes fade out into oblivious darkness

Poem of the Day

poet Robert William Service

Just Home and Love! the words are small
Four little letters unto each;
And yet you will not find in all
The wide and gracious range of speech
Two more so tenderly complete:
