The Heartbreak Box Poem by shannon wright

The Heartbreak Box

Rating: 5.0

I put everything in my heartbreak box
even a dozen unread letters
but as i look around i realize
that you have become me
and i have become you
i wish i had done more
given you more to hold onto
if i could only put my eyes
in the heartbreak box
if i could only put my heart
in the heartbreak box
if i could only put my soul
in the heartbreak box
if i could only put my hands
in the heartbreak box
and every unfulfilled wish
and every unfulfilled desire
and every unfinished plan

if i put it all in the box
i'd have nothing.
i have nothing.
nothing left for me.

I have a secret box.... and if I put all my secrets in there, I won't have any left for me.... your poems are really wonderful and have loads of insight. I'll save this one to read over and over again.
