The Hungry Crocodile Poem by Daren Walker

The Hungry Crocodile

There's no bigger smile than my crocodile smile.
I hide in disguise in chocolate waters peeping with my eyes.

I wait... and wait for juicy buffalo steaks
and hippo cakes in tropical lakes.

A tiger trifle I like best of all, so delightful, frightful,
Mightiful - feisty things they are, better kept in a jar!

An elephant that will do. To big to chew,
a meal for one, but soon be gone.

And birds, well, they never fill you up, all them feathers
and things and little floppy wings.

What I need is a cook you see, someone to catch the prey for me.

What more can I say, but that would make a perfect day
And keep a smile on this hungry crocodile.
