NITHEESH ANNADANAM (02-02-1999 / CHENNAI, INDIA)
The Hunted
I hunted, hunted and hunted,
I hunted for it in the forests.
I hunted, hunted and hunted,
I hunted for it in the rivers.
I hunted, hunted and hunted,
I hunted for it in the oceans.
I hunted, hunted and hunted,
I hunted for it on the roads.
I hunted, hunted and hunted,
I hunted for it in the wind.
I hunted, hunted and hunted,
I hunted for it in the fire too.
At last I gave up and sat grimly,
Then God appeared before me and spoke,
'You have searched for confidence in everything,
But you have neglected one thing',
He looked into my eyes.
I hunted, hunted and hunted,
And finally found it in myself.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Robert Frost

The message of the poem is apparently meant for the confused lot especially the youngsters of these turbulant times. Search for your own traits within you and don`t be foolish enough to seek it elsewhere, Master Nitheesh tells you in plain language. The play with words has added splendour to the poem. Well done young poet. Keep it up.
