When darkness clouds our thinking
And time suspends our fears
A chink of light breaks though the mind
And renders all things clear

A glint of hope starts rising
Belief in roads ahead
Suspended time soon ticks again
Our fears no longer fed

A conscious mind now focused
On the journey to be made
An inner strength now building
Causes darkness still to fade

Dreams once more are conjured
Of futures that are bright
A new found sense of optimism
Finally in sight

Inspired by those around us
Our path we start to tread
Encouraged and supported
Negativity is shed

Our loss still in existence
Though now standing tall and fast
Only glancing backwards
To smile at the perils of our past

The darkness non-existent
Obscurity now gone
Growing from experience
Assured that life goes on
