The Journey Of The Moon Poem by Luke Bushen

The Journey Of The Moon

Rating: 5.0

His pale face peers down on me as I lie awake in bed.
It's ghostly hue resembles that of those who've been long dead.
I hear the haunting song he sings, a humming whispered low.
His grins and frown fill my wide eyes lit by his soft glow.

But now his mouth closes shut, his face no longer seen.
And as the darkness settles in, I hear the horrid scream.
The scream of silence, it fills my ears; the cold begins to nark.
I close my eyes, I keep them shut, I hide from the dark.

Chills run down my naked arms, my hair stands on end.
Fear pumps through my veins - but then he sings again!
He splits the darkness' thick veil and fills the late night hour
with songs and dreams, and so it seems the darkness is devoured.
