The Key To My Heart Poem by Tammie Thrasher

The Key To My Heart

I found the rusted and misused key to my heart, lying on the floor.
I thought I had lost it forever when the last boy walked out the door.
I didnt think I would ever love another,
But baby, you are my forever.
So, I'm handing you the key to my heart.
Please hold on to it and don't let it get thrown around or torn apart.
This key isn't made of strength anymore.
It's composed of love and tenderness and it has survived a terrible storm.
I'm trusting you with everything i have and everything i am because now you hold the key to my heart.
I want to spend eternity with you by my side and giving you this treasure is just the start.
