The Labels Poem by Sierra Staten

The Labels

I see it now,
The difference between her and I.
She is the kind one.
The one who Is socially acceptable.
I am the other.
The one society sees as a bad influence.
But can you not see through these hypocritical labels?
All I want is you.
I've waited so long for somebody like you to come around.
And now that you're here,
I can't lose you.
I can't bare it.
Please, be smarter than these labels we were given and understand I won't be a mistake.
I won't hurt you.
The labels will.
