The Lake Of Sorrow Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Lake Of Sorrow

The Lake of Sorrow

The lake's surface,
Showed the tears of the world,
In one swirl of water.
It troubled me so.

This lake with it's anathema,
Didn't know what to do,
So it cried and cried,
And more tears filled it to it's brim.

These were the tears of the world,
All in one lake.
I walked away backwards from it,
For I couldn't bear it.

I couldn't clear this lake of it's tears of sorrow.
