The Land That We Have Left Poem by Michael Kuznetsov

The Land That We Have Left

On the land and on the sea,
Where the Jews have all once seen:
All the mighty, all the glory,
All the victory and praise
Of their god and Amoraim
In the light and of their days.
From the sea and from the glory,
We came out into the world.
That began, heroic story -
Peaceful plough and fighting sword.
With beliefs and disbeliefs,
Our victory and peace,
Leads us to disperse as leaves.
To Australia and Greece,
Our temporary homes,
Shall change paths to motherland.
To return to ancient stones
And to find our god's command.
