The Lap Poem by Tapas Baidya

The Lap

Rating: 5.0

In scorching summer the trees behave like human
They call by their shadow made with the sun
And the leaves
And the petals
And the wind
And the summer-cool freshness

A traveler rests a little while
On the grassy bed
Before his long journey
L e a v e f a l l ......
All on a sudden he remembers his mother’s adorned hands
In a sweet reverie he can feel her warm touch
And discovers him
On her lap
Where the whole universe rests
