The Last Kiss I Shall Ever Give Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

The Last Kiss I Shall Ever Give

Rating: 5.0

You gripped my heart with passion's fire
You filled my soul with true desire,
The first time that our eyes did meet
I felt my life was so complete,
I kissed your lips a sad farewell
Now always in my mind you dwell,
For all the years I've left to live
The last kiss I shall ever give.

You made the light within me shine
You swore you'd be forever mine,
Back then we both did not foresee
How dreams would never come to be,
I kissed your lips and you did leave
And now for you each day I grieve,
For all the years I've left to live
The last kiss I shall ever give.

You told me you would not return
You left me cold yet still I yearn,
To share again the life we led
But hopes of that are lying dead,
I kissed your lips my tears did flow
I never wanted you to go,
For all the years I've left to live
The last kiss I shall ever give.

This is beautiful but so sad. I love the repeated two lines at the end of each verse, they are so moving. Excellent write. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
