The Leaves Poem by D. S. Jones

The Leaves

A leaf had fallen from a tree
With the help of a gentle breeze,
I turned from my work and gazed upon
A kaleidoscope of leaves.
It was as if a fire had been lit
For each leaf had an inward glow,
I might have missed this Autumn's bliss
Had my eyes not been diverted so.
So I thanked that little falling leaf
That tapped my shoulder then,
The work will always be to do
But Autumn's clock is slim.
