A great legend he WAS
I'm yet to achieve to what he DOSE
The proud prospect in my mind
Who raise the state flag to
Higher high positivity.

A Gambian in such helm ship
The chairperson stamp to his NAME
I am yet to see a Gambian shoe FAME
A great poet he DOSE
Dr. Lenries peters he WAS
Doctors Degree Decent.

My sad condolence
Say may thy soul lay
In peace.

Thee a mentor I motive MOST
And aim to achieve way MORE
To hang our state flag OVER
In the limit SKY.
