The Lesson Poem by Tony Adah

The Lesson

The lesson is not learned
We continue with the calmness of heart
And impunity
Petals rise in the morning dew
Their beauty held in the morning sun
Same lost to dust in the evening sun.

A bachelor's sojourn
Leaves his fire in a pile of cinder
And no one stokes kindlings in
Still he dares not extinguish his fire
Upon seeing the rising sun.
