The Light From Within
Everywhere I look,
I see faces big and small;
Some are beautiful;
Some are feeling beautiful;
And, sigh, some are not at all.
As I peer around,
I see the light come and go
Through a soul window
That is left open for me;
Left open for you and me.
When the light goes out,
I sense danger and discord;
A brewing tempest at bay
That may bust the heart and mind.
From my own windows,
Some lighted souls sauntered by
To spread love and light
In the midst of confusion
And utter desolation.
Beauty now I know.
It is the light from within;
The light that shines bright
Anywhere and all the time;
From the sky down to dark earth.
