The Light Within The Locket Poem by Steven Rowe

The Light Within The Locket

A sea of mirages
Eyes, only seeing hazy, ambiguous figures in the distance
Searching for the beam of light in the shadows of the world

The light is trapped in a vessel, waiting for the right code
I must find the key to unleash the light
Locating the light within translates to eternal ecstasy

On the journey one finds minute traces of foggy light,
Rejoicing, they soon discover something terrible:
These places are the darkest of them all.

As years progress and progress digresses one learns the lesson:
The key is found within,
The locket will only open when one is simply one.

I learn the Journey I lead is not a journey.
It is something far more complicated. rather
An unconventional search to find one’s self.
