The Lights Went Off! Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

The Lights Went Off!

The lights went off!
And, satan played her games around;
Then, the lights came on once again!
And, the slaves clapped their hands in joy;
But, let wisdom be given to the wise,
And, let the truth be praised always.
The mus eof life and the ways of nature,
With the acts of mankind on this earth;
According to their ways and according to their doings,
And like a bee in my juice drink today!
But, the lid of love is niow opened to all around.

The wed of deceit!
To read it out as it is written;
With the muse of my inheritance,
But, lip services and tokenistic gestures are not part of me.
Illegal lust!
With an attack at the back of your enemy;
As the lights went off,
But, when the light came back, your sexual escapades were exposed! !
Like the movements of the mountains into the seas.
Roar and foam oh waters! !
Swell and tremble on mountains;
But, let the truth walk with us when we have the light.
