The Longing Heart Poem by William Blackman

The Longing Heart

Hollow days and nights over the ocean lovers
are emotional victims of circumstance and time.
How much can a bold heart withstand.
Will my lips ever know the texture of my beloved's.
Am I a fool in some twisted paradise.
Although I feel one day we will be wriggling together
wrapped in each other's love. Fragrant dreams and
soundless silence of what's to be is what I hang onto.
Love the most precious resource of all. The fog of
frustration may be heavy still I believe, believe, believe.
