The Lost Lover Poem by George Price

The Lost Lover

Rating: 5.0

She hit paradise
That night.
Dark diamond ghosts
Glittering silver as they pranced

Around her twinkling
Hard bed.
As the milky stars
Changed that midnight into day.

*****

She hit paradise
That night.
As I lay fast asleep
Miles away, in dank blackness

Around me silence
Lay quiet.
And loneliness compounded
The horror of that lost love.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a poem in two parts; the first is purely imagined and happy, the second is not.
It started off as a writing exercise, but then progressed. I think it more or less speaks for itself.
