The Lotus Flower Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Lotus Flower

The Lotus Flower

The lotus flower remained
Fresh, strong and pretty.
Nothing in this crazy world
Could spoil it.

Even though it's roots
With mud roiling around them,
Could pull it down so easily.
The lotus remains.

You are the lotus flower
With your own roots in the muddy water.
Nothing can bring you down,
Not the world's evils.

The Nirvana inside is stronger than all.
The Void inside is beautiful.
The world outside may be a bit evil
But the lotus remains strong like you.
