The Majesty Of Words Poem by J. D. Martin

The Majesty Of Words

Oh words oh words
I can speak you for days.
How different you can be
Diversity marks all your ways.

The theologian in my heart
Wants to use you with all my might.
The scholar in my mind
Warns. Confusion is all this finds.

Profundity confuses
And volume drives away.
Novelty is useless
But brevity is the way.

Say it with conviction
And say it more than once.
Proclaim with proper diction
Feed his children a holy lunch.
