The Marvellous Cullen Pipers Poem by Francis Duggan

The Marvellous Cullen Pipers

In Cullen Village in Duhallow far north of here and miles away
They drink, dance and make merry there on St Laitiaran's day
The Cullen Pipe Band on the street bagpiping up and down
Far from their ancient Village they have won Worldwide renown.

They are known far from Cullen in Duhallow and the Parish of Millstreet
At pipe band championships around the World they are the band to beat
They have put Cullen on the World music map they are known Worldwide
And to the people of Duhallow they have become a sense of pride.

The marvellous Cullen pipers inspire the bards to rhyme
Amongst the World's finest of this or any time
In big Cities far from Cullen they have done their Village proud
Why not we drink a toast to them and sing their praises loud.

Cullen the Village associated with a Celtic Saint Laitiaran was her name
But now thanks to it's famous pipers band it enjoys a Worldwide fame
The pride of old Duhallow and the finest in Ireland
They are amongst the World's best the Cullen Pipers band.
