The Mask Poem by jawaher ahmad

The Mask

You look around him

There's nothing but darkness

You look inside him

There's nothing but badness

Oh God, what would it take

To over come this illness? ?

What would it take

To destroy this bleakness? ?

He puts on his mask

And starts living his life faithless

He merges into the act

Just to treat people heartless

He keeps loitering around

Giving the impression that he's aimless

Oh, for God's sake

Behind that mask

There's nothing but a nameless

What kind of soul could live with this madness? ?

How much more his heart could bear from this sickness? ?

How long his conscious could stay sleepless? ?

And what would it take to destroy this blindness? ?

He puts on his mask

And starts flaunting about his greatness

He merges into the act

Just to show how much he's gorgeous

He keeps claiming

He don't mind being friendless

Oh, for God's sake

Behind that mask

There's nothing but faceless

What kind of soul could live with this grievous? ?

How much more his heart could bear from this sadness? ?

How long his conscious could stay lifeless? ?

And what would it take to destroy this strangeness? ?

You look around him

There's nothing but brightness

You look inside him

There's nothing but kindness

Oh God, what would it take

To show him that it's priceless? ?

What would it take

To build up this happiness? ?
