The Me I See In You Poem by Lydia Felicien

The Me I See In You

Little one I see your face
And I know the place
You have in my heart
There are times I see the similarity
In the things you say and do
And I recognize
The me I see in you
Dearest one when I recall
When I was small
The things I decided to do
And I look at you and was amazed to see
That you were doing them too
It used to scare me and I'd hear me
Saying to myself
Do you recall when you did that too
It's the me I see in you
Now you're grown and on your own
with children of your own but
I look at your face and I'd see my face
It's the me I see in you
