The Meaning Of Life Poem by Justin Shaw

The Meaning Of Life

Rating: 5.0

When a friendship turns to love
A commitment is made
Vows and comprise are established
Their own love becomes selfless
Experience and time act accordingly
Memories become the very seeds of affection.
Nostalgic wonder deepens the roots
The relational tree begins to grow
Teleological branches of choice and action emerge.
Simultaneous experiences commence and cease
Along the branches withering ends
The life source of the relational tree mends
A competitive duality forever present
Thanatos excretes into the dead end branches
Libido perfects the growing stature
Throughout the changing seasons
The symbolic bond forever believing
Continual battles throughout a persistent storm
Soon after, and many storms past
A committed survival
Dedication as an ongoing path
The relational trees resignation onto superior maturation.
The most intimate, beautiful stage.
Through the intimacy, the relational tree has grown attuned
Now, alas
The seeds of departure embark, carrying along its tune

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was inspired to write this poem on behalf of the true love that everyone should be able to recognize and be capable of obtaining someday... This poem is a direct reaction to a personal betrayal against me, committed by my significant other; specifically,4 years I committed myself to her.
