The Mirror Poem by Engy El Ghanam

The Mirror

there's a tranquility in knowing that you can fail your own and still be contented
to feel good about yourself within all the lies well wrapped and well presented
the butterflies and the rainbows in the books and lullabys
are the strength we seek when we face goodbyes
we decieve our thoughts into the circle of light
its a win win situation, its a win win fight
the stairs are built of straws, , the straws are so fragile
wind can blow them far and flames can hold us back a while
but dreams cant wait, when unleashed they lead
once you grow a tree, you cant dig back its seed
on the back of the wildness in the heart of me i ride
i learned to lose the prescious and the loved but not the pride
i ryhme every word with the passion deep in me
its my gain to force one more blind to see
am no wise man, am no poet..i improvise
like all my steps and the things i came to realize
you cant break a heart unfound
cant jump before you hit the ground
cant appreciate the laugh before you taste the tear
cant stand unless you rise above the fear
to face the mirror is to look beyond the skin
accept, forgive and forsake your sin
believe the evil in your soul will leave you not
the battle is undefined untill you place beside the end your dot.
