The Mirror And I Poem by David Hunter

The Mirror And I

I look at myself in the mirror
While my lonely and painful times come nearer.
Each fragment of my heart is a broken glass,
With no chance of being in the middle, I'm in the lower class.

The mirror on the wall was my only friend,
He and I including myself talked over and over again.
We said 'Hello', we said 'Good-bye',
But every time I see myself, I feel that I want to cry.

Why was it just me and the mirror shattered?
Although, his feelings and mine were lost and battered.
We both didn't deserve to be alone in pain like this,
If there's no good way of healing, then what is?

Well, okay, it's just the mirror and I against a problem,
But we can reassure you, we're no longer going to be at the bottom.
We will rise then we will fall together,
The quicker we act, if sooner the better.
