The Moment Poem by Robert L. Bixler III

The Moment

A breath lost in the moment
Holds the very key to life.

A life lived within
A single heart beat,
Within a single blink,
Within a single sigh.

Pure beauty,
To capture a life of love.

My eyes fall upon radiance
And my lungs collapse.
Time holds its heavy hands
As I melt away slowly.

Wind tossed locks,
Burn desire into my soul
As my skin longs
For white silk embrace.

Just as I fall,
Head over heel,
I feel one strong beat
Of hardened heart protect.

Thoughts of the combined
Flow in and out
Like addicting music,
Serenading love’s stake.

As my breath stalls still,
Your emerald skies meet
The icy blues where I live.
In humbled blush attempt
My eyes bow before yours.

As cold, dark night
Gives to warming light
My dreams find companionship
In the lake of blue-green glance.

Together we dance,
Graceful step flow,
Over mirrored lake
Like mating swans.

This lake becomes eternity
As this mute holds
Celestial beauty closer
Then my own redemption.

Wrapped in the moment,
I release held breath.
Loose lips sink ships,
And mine part for yours.

The water fills the void
Between my lips,
As I sink to reality,
And breathe again.

Each breath of mine
Brings distance between us,
But I shall always hold
The life of love in the moment.
