The Moon And The Tide Poem by Chhavi Anupam

The Moon And The Tide

The deep night
silent, still,
but star studded,
luminous
with moon’s silver,
weaves
a cryptic magic,

the corporeal
in me,
craving
for your touch,
just like the sea
craving for moon
leaping up,
defying all reason
all logic.

The ‘current’
picks up,
it is electrifying,
speeding in
my blood,
with a
tempestuous rage
it puffs,
a desire burning,
all consuming
takes over.

I entreat
the gods above
for redemption,
it comes
I wake up,
and thankfully find
you have flown far,
very far.

And
between us
float,
mocking and merry,
the well rehearsed roles,
the accepted norms
and what not.

Lo!
in a twinkle,
though the night
is still
star spangled,
it all vanishes
the flames fade,
the illumination
disappears.

Now it is all
still and fine,
no wonder,
because since time
immemorial
the tempestuous tide
has been receding,
and the celestial moon
never won over
has been proceeding!
