The Moon's Keeper Poem by Asma Khan

The Moon's Keeper

I build my own kingdom
with wonder and wisdom

You stay kind and loyal
there is no comparison to such a soil

I embraced you with your light and darkness
so don't play with my sharpness

I am standing on the verge of this time
leaving you behind might be a crime

There is no fantasy in this decision
I have to accept it for your provision

Don't blame me of deceiving you
I have always done whatever I could get thru

The memories are terrible to pass
I can still see you in a caged glass

I go blank to wonder how you feel
don't consider my wrong, but my appeal

I had no choice but to die
This is the ultimate rule to comply

Live after me and be merry
for there is no grief left to carry

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
As much as it is hard to explain what contained me to keep the moon in my eyes, I find it my right to say it loud.
