The Most Confusing Person I Know Poem by Lauren Baker

The Most Confusing Person I Know

Rating: 2.0

A consumate gaze that brings me life
Will often pierce me to the core.
Unsure if the eyes emit love or hate
I must gaze back into yours.

Best friends one minute, arguing the next,
Sometimes you just want to talk.
Yet other times i can't get a response,
no matter how hard I try.

I don't get your jokes, the words that you say,
the way you behave or how you think.
And wouldn't I love to just understand
what goes on in the deep.

Sometimes I lie awake at night
and thank God for giving me you,
but only on the nights when I'm not
pleading Him to take you away.

But I still love you, just because your you,
and I know that will never change.
