The Nation Poem by Gary Hembree

The Nation

Rating: 3.5

The nation, built on the tears of those native.
Built by the slaves of other nations.
The great kings to make changes, shot down like false prophets.
Freedom, a word used to those who are blind from seeing.
Left, right, we march for war, to keep the rich rich and the poor poor.
We are no different from the ones we kill.
One nation, under government.
