The New Year Poem by Roger A. Rose

The New Year

The New Year slipped in,
I was reading and didn't feel.
My Love was asleep upstairs
and the house was still.

No horns nor confetti nor drink,
no crowds nor songs nor frivolity.
Finished the chapter and to bed,
celebrating as I live, quietly.
