The Next Day

Today was the day I been waiting for since yesterday,
Since the yesterday I had was a yesterday I wish to forget,
And as the sun came singing through the curtains above my head,
Today was the day...

The today I wish could stay for a tomorrow,
And for a few more tomorrows after tomorrow,
But without forgetting the unforgettable yesterday I wish to forget,
Today was the day I forgot
