The Night Poem by yastika ?

The Night

Rating: 5.0

The darkness
Is where my restless heart shall dwell
The crows chirp on the leafless branches
The moonlight over my soul
It illuminates the dark
And silences the deafening sound of the dog's bark
My eyes close
I imagine a couple dancing under the stars
The moon smiles above them
Their shadow sneaks under the cars
There is silence all around me
Surround me are empty streets
And the darkness is all I can see

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A poem I wrote when I was eleven years old... The night is filled of so much of unseen beauty. My poem focuses on a night that the speaker spends looking through the window to distract himself from his inability to sleep.
