The Night Before Poem by Joshua Bantum

The Night Before

There's a sun hanging,
Its dropping slower,
An amber tear
Melting down like wax,
Behind your skin
And across my hand,
It extinguishes,
Against
And it's somber
And dark again

Your eyes rise in the dark
Stars ascending near
Gods monocle eye
Both watching me
Judging,

Have I done wrong,
Are your tears my burdening
Song,
Had I taken your last
Effort
And malnourished it from love
Has your heart evaporated to
Ash structure
That no longer can take
Gravities rainbow

Is it me you despise
Or is it this earth,
Or both

Or you
