The Night Cat

Tics and habits
Holes of rabbits
The joker is laughing
And I am afraid
In a world that is real
I cook my own meals
And fend for myself
With each dawning day
But in the land of the night
I stand and fight
Commanding with ease
My countless slaves
And nightmares mean nothing
For the fox with his cunning
Is here by my side
And the gluttonous wolf
Will laugh in your wake
For I am a queen
Unlike any, you've ever seen
A godly cat with the birds at my feet
The phoenix is my heater
And the dragon's wings my shade
I rule over the menacing spider
And all the webs she hath made
But the dog ~Clueless slave to man! ~
Is for now my only enemy
In here and all the land
While the night-owl's loyalties
Are questionable
The advice is certainly worth it
For one day I shall rule the world
In not only the midnight's domain
But gracefully rule the light of day
And walk upon the humans
While I think to myself
"What a shame"
And dream of the day
When they bow down and say
"Look and see!
For the Night Cat is queen!
Do what she says,
Till the end of your days! '

And suddenly with a start
I wake and see
The world I know to be real
"It was only a dream"
But the Night Cat's words
Still rang in my head
"Do as I say or soon you'll be dead"
A prideful creature was she
Without any flaws
As far as the eye could see
But the wolf and fox
And the night-owl's screech
The slaves all bloody
Still haunted my dreams
But then I thought and looked ahead
"She really was a cat" I said
And Night Cat never really bothered me
When I said that
She was truly powerful
And her pride was just the same
I won't exactly worship her
But admire her without shame
