The Night I Thought I'D Lost You Poem by Carsten Thomsen

The Night I Thought I'D Lost You

Don’t
remember
when, but
where, I do.
Nor the
reazon
why, but
on what,
I know
too.

That
distant
Copenhagen
Mushroom
Night
I thought
I’d lost you.

My eyes
searched in vain
for your’s
through the
throbbing
pulzating
haze for
what felt like
endless eons
(but was probably less)

When I did
finally
find
YOU
I fell on my knees
and kissed
your hands.
You thought I was
silly.

As you
said you’d never
leave me,
your eyes shone
and for a while
we both believed
that
what you said
was true.

Lovely poem....we make promises...then life happens...and promises are left by the wayside...then we make more promises...(perhaps to never listen to the first promises ever again...) ...and life happens... Don't get stuck on promises, I beg of you my friend, think of them as gifts and gestures, only for a time...and then let the cycle begin again...life is transient. Beautiful poem Hugs, Dee
