The Nightmare Poem by Tom Gambit

The Nightmare

And there I lay, my head alongside my pillow
Wandering off I began to ascend at that moment
Flying absently towards the wispy, graying clouds
I passed through them with ease
Towards the Heavens I could see the light and hear the melody of the angels
But in that joyful instant, Dark enveloped me
Suffocating any pleasure, my body writhing, gasping for a release
Then…at the moment at hand, flames arose and I could feel the black
And hear the screams of a thousand beleaguered humanities
I was cast down onto an icy, brimstone bottom
I saw Shadows
Obscurities began to encircle me, feelings of mourning emerged from within my soul
Escape was surely nonexistent in this Dark reformatory
Light shone
Birds sang and the scent of a mild, autumn day crept inside my room through an open window
I awoke…only to be trifled by my subconscious mind from the night before
