'The Only Thing We Have In Common' Poem by Linda Winchell

'The Only Thing We Have In Common'

The only thing mankind, has in common
That we all will and can ever hope to share.
It does not lie in our D.N.A., for no doctor, will ever find it there.
It lay between such things, as the words of right and wrong
And of kindness and of good.
It’s the world’s universal language, one word, so misunderstood.

I know we all possess it!
Deep within our hearts, ventricles, Arteries and veins?
It is what really makes the world, go around
Time and time again!

If you’ve not yet figured it out
What it is, I am telling you.
It is this word called, ” L.O.V.E”
Money back guarantee on that
That Love, ”I O. U.! ”

You can’t place it in a bottle
Cage it, like a bird.
It can only be shown, in our actions
And in the words, your ears have heard.

It’s the only thing we all have in common
And it’s FREE to give away!
I would ask that we all become familiar
In a Universal language, God Loving, love kind of way.
