The Origin Of Hope Poem by Not Long Left

The Origin Of Hope

Time now to go my invisible friend
for I can no longer try and pretend
that you will ever succseed in your
plan, to make the future seem more
bright. So go like the clouds at night
hovering gently untill out of sight.
Too long have I clung to the idea
that eventually this fog will clear
and the world will embrace me.
cushioning my falls, setting me free
from this boxed cage I rot in
devoid of love and robbed of kin.
Time now to go my invisible friend
For we can no longer try and pretend.
But before you go I shall name you hope
for in the future they shall enjoy the joke.
