The Outgoing Pope Poem by Taher Shemaly

The Outgoing Pope

seems the whitish heart is leaving
and earth with tears shall be bleeding
and goodbye we may shall have to say
with tears on cheeks digging their way
to the out going Pope with mercy

seems life denied but crying
or good people it is denying
sleeping my eyes cannot be now
reddish with tears and prayers I'd vow
to the out going Pope of mercy

blame me not for my crying
and for my tears don't go for counting
the good is good whatever its place
in heaven or earth let be the grace
of the out going Pope with mercy

Hallelujah Hallelujah believers
get your tears ready and your keeners
here goes out a man nothing is alike
Elahi your mercy what can it be like
if the out going is the Pope of mercy?
