The Pain Of Truth: Alzheimers Poem by Thomas Plotz

The Pain Of Truth: Alzheimers

Lost without question
The truth will make you shake
Lost without Hope
The sun will make you bake
Stuck on a small island with endless sea
Of mindless dissolved knowledge around thee

Awaken you find your somewhere else, in your mentality
A place without windows
A place without doors
Just empty bliss
Trying to put together a bit of language lacking dismiss
To blurb out a word or phrases frustrating to reminisce, who…?

Seeing a visitor standing before you down a short hallway
Keying a wave, to be friendly, he's mocking your actions!
With duplicating motion

Pictures by your bed, boxes on the floor
Of places you have once, had been before
Unfamiliar to you;
Forgotten family
Forgotten friends
Forgotten careers, and live in the end

They're here around you, but you don't remember
You don't remember your memory song
The songs and stories of life make us whole
Shaking you to your soul

Keys are the triggers; scents, places, people, movies, flavors
Wakening the past
A rustling breeze, presents the keys, anger from fear and sadness, envelops you
Truth showers down, over whelming your senses, returning your youth song

Truth of the past events
Truth of where you are
Truth of life
