The Paper Flower Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Paper Flower

The Paper Flower

That paper flower
Cried and cried.
It didn't have a scent
And it's heart just died and died.

The unscented flower
Wanted to be in the garden.
But the other flowers objected.
This paper flower felt rejected.

One day a special flower
Came to it
And wondered why it was crying.
The paper flower said it was made of fake petals, just dying and dying.

Now all the other flowers in the garden
Surrounded the paper flower.
They said it was the most different flower in it.
And the paper flower's petal became lit.
