The Paradox Called Money? Poem by Dr John Celes

The Paradox Called Money?

Money can buy a palatial house
But cannot make a home!
Money can buy a Titanic,
But can't ensure safety.

Money can win a lot of friends
But not an honest one;
Money can get professional seats,
But not any wisdom.

Money can start off major wars,
But cannot broker peace;
Money can bring education,
But not a good teacher.

Money can buy gold, platinum,
But not a heart of love;
Money can buy exotic foods,
But never satiety.

Money can groom a person king,
But can't give him virtues;
Money can take you into space,
But can't vouchsafe return.

Money can lift you to all heights,
But not give steadfastness;
Money can fetch you laurels, feats,
Not satisfaction much.

Money can give much luxury,
But not the grace of God;
Money can free a criminal,
Not gain God's forgiveness!

Money can offer surgeries,
But not a cancer-cure;
Money can perform abortions,
Not resurrect the dead!

Money can turn a person great,
But can't make one a saint;
Money can make some dreams come true,
Not take through heaven's gate!
