The Paradox Of Hunger Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Paradox Of Hunger

half the melons
flowed red
and much of the oranges
are sun-drenched
all guavas glowed
like moons of the nights
of June
roasted calf rolled like
scaled thunder
on May longings
the hunger is there
but for now
satisfaction shies.
