The Path I Choose Poem by Aria Lei

The Path I Choose

Rating: 2.3

The wind blows as
The rain falls from
The skies.

The path that I'm
walking doesn't feel
the same as it did
before.

The path that I'm
walking is not
the only thing that
I'm fighting for.

I'm fighting to stay
realistic.
(Don't give in to pessimism)
I'm fighting to help
others and not feel how they're
feeling.
(Don't let that wall fall down)
I'm fighting not to be
a normal teenager and to try
to be more mature,
to think more.
(Don't be immature)
And I'm fighting to stay out
of a relationship that fact
says will not last through
high school, most likely.
(Don't give in to teenage hormone over-drive)

Well, that's not so hard, now,
is it?
Nah, not at all...
Pfft.

Yes, I'm being a bit
sarcastic, sorry.
My battle is starting again,
and pessimism is fighting
harder than ever.
But I'm fighting back,
harder than ever.
I hope.

The wind blows along
The twisting path I walk
Along. The path that has
Weather that's constantly
Changing.
