The Pet You Left Poem by Enriquito Lucero Jr.

The Pet You Left

Once there was a weak and small heart.
It was mine.
Until one day you came along,
You had it as your pet.
Showered it your caress...
Day by day you've fed it happiness
Then it turned out to be a strong heart.
Then a big heart.
A strong and big heart.

One day, you left that strong and big heart.
You've left your pet.
Day by day it got hungry
I've fed it happiness...
Day by day it got hungry
It ate all my happiness
(All and nothing left)
...and I'm afraid...
Afraid that it will eat my life next.
