The Phoenix Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

The Phoenix

Rating: 5.0

She had made her 'clarion call'
...Yet, no rescue movement was discerned
On fire - - much as a funeral pyre
...But she was not concerned.

For she had fallen into the depths
...Spiraling down - out of control
No catching her breath - in this her first death
...And into ashes - - her soul.

But redemption never left her side
...A comforting - character - building friend
Thus becoming brand new - with a rebirth view
...Today - - a Phoenix to the end.

And God help you if you are a Phoenix and you dare to rise up from the ash. A thousand eyes will smolder with jealousy while you are just flying past. - - -Ani DiFranco 32 Flavors

I wrote this about the feeling of feeling brand new; no longer the same person in any way. Many have been blessed to experience this...and having felt it as well this spring...i know it to be true. Believe that i have God to thank for it all.
